Owlcrate actively used unethical practices during the promotion of their Eragon Edition. Owlcrate stated “General sale begins on.. if we have any stock remaining” to push buyers into their subscription model. Owlcrate doesn’t advertise their subscriber count, if they expanded their subscriber limit before the Eragon Edition release or how many copies of the book they are printing. They are potentially misleading customers into a subscription model they don't need in order to buy a book.

The exclusive OwlCrate Limited Edition of Eragon will be $39.99 USD plus shipping. It is a completely separate order from our regular OwlCrate subscriptions and must be purchased individually through our store.
Please note this sale will be limited to 1 book per person as stock is limited. We anticipate shipping in late December.”
